A restaurant carpet takes more punishment in a month than a home carpet takes in a year. Hundreds of people walk it daily, food and drink land on it constantly, and it has to look presentable every single service. Here is why the mop-and-hire-machine approach stops working quickly in a commercial venue.

The soil is greasy, not dry

In a dining room, kitchen aerosol settles across the floor as a fine oily film, and every dropped chip and spilled sauce adds to it. Grease behaves differently to household dust. It binds soil to the fibre and it will not come out with plain hot water, so it needs an alkaline pre-spray with proper dwell time before extraction. A hire machine from the hardware store has neither the chemistry nor the heat to do it.

    Odour is a trading problem

Spilled beer and wine soak into the backing near the bar and behind service stations. Once that ferments, the smell greets customers at the door. Surface cleaning masks it for a day. It has to be treated at the backing, the same way we handle pet odour in a home, or it comes straight back.

Traffic lanes destroy the look before the carpet wears out

The route from the entry to the till, and the line waiters walk between the kitchen pass and the tables, will grey off years ahead of everything else. Regular scheduled cleaning of those lanes costs a fraction of replacing the floor covering, and the carpet reaches its full service life instead of half of it.

    Slip risk and compliance

Grease-loaded carpet edges near a hard floor transition are a genuine hazard, and food-service inspections look at floor coverings. A dated cleaning record from a certified operator is useful to have on file.

You cannot close for two days to dry

This is the part venues underestimate. Truck-mounted extraction removes far more moisture than a portable unit, so a dining room cleaned overnight is ready for lunch service. Under-powered gear leaves carpet damp, and damp carpet in a warm kitchen environment smells worse than it did before.

    How we schedule commercial work

We clean outside trading hours as a matter of course, whether that means 11pm in a restaurant or a Sunday in an office. Commercial carpet cleaning covers venues, offices and retail, and strata carpet cleaning handles common areas and lift lobbies on a set schedule. Hard-floor sections and the grout lines that go grey around service areas are covered by tile and grout cleaning, and once the carpet is clean a fabric protector makes the nightly spot clean far easier for your staff.

    When something goes wrong mid-week

A burst pipe, a failed fridge or a blocked drain in a commercial kitchen cannot wait for a scheduled visit. We take emergency and same-day calls on 1300 309 276, and our flood restoration team brings drying equipment so you lose one service rather than a week.

Adam’s Carpet Cleaning has been family-run since 2004, backed by more than 25 years in the industry and IICRC-certified technicians. We quote commercial work on site because floor area, soil level and access all change the number. Book a free quote and we will give you a schedule that suits your trading hours.
